If you are looking for a part time position with a flexible schedule, this could be a fit!
We are an established graphic design and web studio building and hosting sites for both not-for-profit and private sector organizations.
Our website clients rely on us to keep sites running and working as expected. We host and support over 90 sites, many with clients we have built relationships with over years.
You should be super comfortable in WordPress, can edit CSS in your sleep, know your way around a cpanel, and comfortable working directly with a client when needed. You want to get things done well and accurately. The work you produce represents corporate clients well.
Details:
Remote – but nearby. If you are in Alberta, that’s great. Part time hours to be set, but will be somewhere 830 am – 430pm Monday – Friday MST. Exact hours to be determined. If you prefer an office and a desk, we are located on 124 Street in Edmonton and can provide that for you.
We are an Adobe shop, knowing Photoshop and Illustrator are plusses. Figma is also a plus.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or Communications, or Web Development, or Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: Demonstrable experience as a WordPress Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for client interactions and team collaboration.
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Sample tasks:
- Scoping a new website project for what is needed and how it should be built
- Designing custom website templates for projects – including typography, headers, footers, sections and other components
- Designing graphics supporting the site design
- Building out web pages with client content, including CSS animated graphics
- Managing and configuring plug ins
- Working with clients on content edits and changes
- Optimizing sites for speed
- Light SEO edits to improve searchability
- Troubleshooting issues with layouts and site functions
- Updating and supporting existing sites
